Movin' Forward Diabetes Exercise

Objective and Goal:

The Movin' Forward Diabetes Exercise program allows participants to participate in a structured exercise program at the Valley Health Wellness and Fitness center under the supervision of certified fitness specialists. The goal is to educate participants on safe exercise routines while empowering the individual with independence as they transition to an independent program.

Program Details:

Length of the Program:

  • The Movin' Forward Diabetes Exercise program lasts over an 8 week period with the group sessions meeting M-W-F at 6:30 pm. Individuals will be encouraged to exercise a minimum 3 days per week, max of 5 days a week.

How to Enroll:

  • Individuals can be referred to the program through a physician, or Diabetes Management classes offered through the Valley Health System. If referred by a physician, limitations and recommendations must be given.

Physician Approval:

  • All participants will fill out a Health History Questionnaire and be required to have a physician's approval prior to beginning exercise.
