Winchester, Va., November 7, 2012 – Valley Health Wellness & Fitness Center has become a certified medical fitness facility by the Medical Fitness Association, the country’s leading organization dedicated solely to medically integrated outcomes and accountability based fitness facilities. The Winchester center is one of fewer than 30 facilities nationwide to achieve three-year certification from the not-for-profit member organization.
“The Medical Fitness Facility Certification process is an important step as we continue to focus on providing safe, high-quality programs and services to address total well-being, from day-to-day health maintenance to sports performance training and rehabilitation,” said Jeff Jeran, MS, CSCS, CPO, Valley Health Wellness & Fitness Center Director. “This certification is recognized as a mark of excellence in the health and wellness industry.”
The Medical Fitness Association’s program is the first and only certification offered specifically to facilities in the medical fitness industry—an industry that serves over 4 million members worldwide. Based on the Medical Fitness Association’s nationally recognized official Standards and Guidelines for Medical Fitness Facilities, the certification process involves an in-depth review of a facility’s adherence to the prescribed standards and guidelines.
Valley Health’s Hampshire Wellness & Fitness in Romney, WV, has also become a certified medical fitness facility, the first facility in the state of West Virginia to earn certification.
Valley Health Wellness & Fitness Center is located at 401 Campus Boulevard on the Winchester Medical Center campus. For more information, call 540-536-3000.
