The goal of National Immunization Awareness month is to remind everyone to stay up to date on their shots. To stay protected against serious illnesses like the flu, measles, and tuberculosis, you need to get your shots just like kids do!
Why are immunizations important you ask…“Infectious disease remains a major cause of illness, disability, and death. Immunization recommendations in the United States currently target 17 vaccine-preventable diseases across the lifespan.” People continue to contract diseases which are preventable by vaccine. “Acute respiratory infections, including pneumonia and influenza, are the 8th leading cause of death in the United States, accounting for 56,000 deaths annually.”
