Member Conquers Challenges after Hip Surgey with Swimming and Personal Training.
Martha R. was searching for a fitness facility to continue her swim workouts while also being able to strength train. Her challenge was incorporating strength workouts into her fitness routine without guidance, especially after her hip surgery. When Martha came to Valley Health Wellness & Fitness Center, the flexibility of the pool hours for lap swim was a consideration for her joining.
“My experience with all staff has been positive. My trainer is extremely personable and takes an interest in getting to know me and what is going on in my life which may impact my workout needs. I feel much better working with her and incorporating these training sessions into my weekly workout routine,” says Martha.
The accountability of working with a trainer has made a difference for Martha. She prioritizes her training sessions each week.
“My trainer is always prepared for my sessions having given thought to what is best considering my strengths and weaknesses. She challenges and encourages me despite a little complaining from me!”
For Martha, the atmosphere of Valley Health Wellness & Fitness Center is what she likes. The staff and patrons all seem focused on healthy lifestyles and it is not a competitive atmosphere. She enjoys being with all ages and stages of life.
“I definitely recognize more faces now as I come and go with those on the same schedule as me. It is fun to make that connection. Also, there are many members that I already know from the community. All of the staff are very welcoming – each one makes a point to know patrons by name and/or greet everyone with a smile.”
If asked is she would recommend Valley Health Wellness & Fitness Center, Martha says:
“I would recommend the center as it feels as if the overall goal is to improve health whether it be through exercise classes, individual workouts, nutrition sessions or training sessions. There are many group sessions that I have not experienced but would also be a draw for someone considering joining. There seems to be options for whatever fitness program someone is interested in beginning. I would recommend a tour of the space and to investigate all the options of available activities. It is a friendly environment for all ages and stages of health.”
